Poetry Group are looking for poets who will fulfil the following criteria:

 

• Aged over 18 

• Attend a selection meeting week beginning 27th January 2014  (exact date and time tbc)

• Able to perform 3 original contrasting poems at ‘I Rhyme to See Myself’ on 20th March 2014

Further Notes:

Poetry Group prohibits any material which includes  discrimination based on:  race, ethnic origin, religion, sex, gender, disability.

The contrasting poems will include a warm-up poem which will not be adjudicated.  The second and third poems to be judged will comprise of the following: one  inspired by the theme of “I Rhyme To See Myself” which explores notions of identities, and the  final freestyle piece which could be chosen from the poet’s existing repertoire or a new improvised piece.

Poems should be no longer than 2 minutes. Poems exceeding this time limit will be curtailed.

Poets will be given the option of using VJ productions if desired.

Judges will be selected from the audience.

Winning poets will be awarded with a prize.
